Re: Kustvaarders voor 1956 gebouwd en nog geregistreerd.
Ben Have been reading your description of the disposal of THIELLA S as HELLAS, taken from LR records by Miramar. The ship had been deleted from LR records for many years as an active ship following her intentional grounding to stop here sinking in 1994. It was reported that she was given the name of...

Re: "Golden Oldies" KHV
I am saddened to hear of Charlie's passing - having known him for many years and exchanging Christmas cards each year. He was a fine man and generous with his vast photograph collection. I shall raise a glass to him tonight. Leslie

Re: Welke haven?
The port is Lerryn - the FENNA arrived there on April 28th 1932 with a cargo of coal from Goole.
It was the only time a Dutch coaster is known to have come to this tiny port.

Our red coaster next to the houses is the former East German "KOSEROW" IMO No. 5194428 which was stranded under the name of "ARGOVIND".

Martin,
Apart from the caption on the DORYS HELENA photograph regarding a different spelling of the ship name, I cannot find any authoritative reference to this comment elsewhere on the internet. Assume it is in error from the original source of the posting?

She is IMO No. 7398614 "MINO 16" - built in Poland and previously used in Antigua as a bunkering tanker.

Martin,
I beg to differ - I have the same photograph, the seaman is standing on the same "wings' that I refer to.
I remain open minded to an alternative ship.

Re: Gespot in de Caribics e.o.
I think I may have the answer now - it is probably the ALDERNEY COURIER which had a port of registry of Guernsey and which was broken up at Carriacou, Grenada. The remaining hull shape is the same as the former TASMAN/WIM/CAPRICORN/REJO/WILCA, built by Sander at Delfzijl. IMO No. 5389451 and better ...

Ben, I think I see Martin's point of view regarding the remains of the ship - it appears to be a different coaster than "MISS ANTIGUA" judging by the wing bridge remains either side of the old wheelhouse. I will look further over the weekend at the veterans that are unaccounted for! Leslie
