Lovely pictures George, realy like them.
But, sank 1000 miles south of Malta, that`s in the state of Niger. Could there be a zero too much in your text as Malta - Tripoli only is some 180 miles?
Best regards--Hans.
I think this record from MARHISDATA answers any misunderstanding:
Final Fate: Onderweg met een lading aardewerk van Barletta naar Tripoli (Libië) tijdens stormweer door de bemanning verlaten toen zij door het schuiven van de lading slagzij begon te maken. Op 21 oktober 100 mijl ten zuiden van Malta gekapseisd en gezonken in pos. 34.17.N - 14.16.O.
ALTEA ex WESTLAND PRODUCER has gone from her berth at Liverpool since my last visit to her dock around 2 years ago, does anyone have information about what happened to her please? She is replaced by ALTEA II ex SVANUR ex JETTE DANIA built 1983, in use as a training ship for the UK Border Agency.
I see wat you mean George.
In the summer of 1978 we went, empty from Liverpool, to Garston to take a full load of scrap for Barcelona.
It was not really a exiting experience in Garston..............
